In many cases, it is one of the clearly symptoms if a woman is pregnant, which also may be one of the toughest part, particularly for the early pregnancy. Most of women with pregnancy (almost 50-80 percent) will experience it, which usually occurs in the 1-st trimester of pregnancy.
So, when does actually it start during pregnancy?
Like written before, it usually occurs and starts in the 1-st trimester of pregnancy. And the first signs of it usually develop in the first month of pregnancy, which means you may get it for the first time in the early of 4th or 6th week from the 1st day that you get pregnant or missed period.
The long duration of morning sickness is vary and relatively different from one pregnant woman to another. It comes with bad effects like vomiting or nausea (or both) that can bother you a lot, which will be worse day by day from 6 to 10 weeks and eventually will reach at the peak level in the 12th week when the hormones of pregnancy begin to stabilize and start decrease.
It usually starts disappear almost completely in the 2-nd trimester. Nevertheless for some women with pregnancy, they still feel the rest effects of morning sickness in the second trimester. Even in rare cases, it may exist for the entire duration of pregnancy.
Therefore, once again the long duration of morning sickness varies from one pregnant woman to another.

The name does not represent the time when it attacks (not always in the morning)! It can strike a woman with pregnancy anytime (morning, noon & night)! And there is poorly understood about what causes that cause morning sickness, but it has been associated to increasing the levels of estrogen along with other pregnancy hormones.
There is also what is called HG or ‘Hyperemesis Gravidarum’ (a kind of severe morning sickness) that can make a woman with pregnancy get severe of vomiting & nausea, which also can lead to malnutrition and dehydration. And if you get this symptom you may need to see your nurse-midwife or doctor immediately!
