Foods that Boost Metabolism

The performance of your body can give a significant effect to the result of your effort to lose your weight. Fortunately whatever how old you are, you can still increase your metabolism. And one of familiar ideas is by considering “how and what you eat”! So, what are foods that boost metabolism?

We can find some foods or beverages on internet that are believed can be helpful to promote good metabolism. But which are actually some of them that work more optimally?

Hot peppers to make spicier!

Some people believe that they can be helpful to boost and speed up metabolism. They have capsaicin that helps to stimulate temporarily the body to detach or release stress hormones, which eventually will be useful for your body to burn some calories.

Lean Turkey (more affordable in price)!

As well we know that the high protein intake is one of useful nutrients to boost metabolism. It is also believed can be helpful to build lean muscle tissue and lose more fats. And lean turkey is rich in protein and low in fat. Moreover, it can be your good alternative since the chicken’s price is now relatively going up and up. And the taste of lean turkey is slightly different than chicken.

Fresh broccoli

It is good source of vitamin C and calcium. Some studies found that there is a positive link between weight loss and calcium. Vitamin C in the broccoli is also helpful to boost and increase the absorption of calcium in the body. Furthermore, broccoli also has phytochemicals that can be powerful to promote good immunity and keep fit your body.

Why not to consider grapefruit?

Grapefruit has high vitamin C content. And as mentioned before, vitamin C can be helpful to promote better absorption of calcium and better metabolism. But don’t forget to ask your doctor if you have a certain medication that may has potentially adverse interactions with this fruit.

Green your day with green tea!

It is also good choice for one of foods that boost metabolism. If you are a green tea lover, don’t forget also to try matcha green tea (premium class of green tea)! Another big advantage is the high antioxidants content in green tea which can help to protect your body from free radicals.

But you should know that green tea also has a little amount of caffeine (read also how much caffeine in green tea?). Therefore, consult first with your doctor if you are taking medication that may interfere with caffeine.

Oatmeal

It is good choice to supply high nutrients for your body. It can be one of the top carb-list that you should consider which not only rich in carbohydrate but also rich in fiber. It can keep you full longer throughout your day. Therefore, if you are looking for the best food for your breakfast then oatmeal is one of the best choices.

Free-fat yogurt!

Another food that is believed can boost your metabolism is dairy products (like low-fat yogurt or free-fat yogurt). Many people agree that low-fat yogurt is one of superfoods. It has high calcium and protein content. Moreover, it also has probiotics (friendly bacteria) to promote better performance of your digestive tract.

Pears & apples

Pears and apples have high content of fiber and other essential nutrients that can promote good health for your body.

According to a study in the State University of Rio de Janeiro, women with low-calorie diet who also consumed 3 small pears or apples a day can lose more pounds of their weight than women with low-calorie diet who didn’t consume these fruits.

Mineral water!

It is undeniable that water has a big role in the body. Almost of all activities (including the metabolism process) in your body involve water. Therefore, do not let dehydration attack you! Frequent dehydration that you experience can train yourself to slow down your metabolism. So, make sure you drink adequate water /day! You can begin your day with a big glass of mineral water and then drink throughout your day (but don’t just drink all at one time).

What else you should keep remember?

Don’t forget also to do your exercise! Having regular exercise is so important to build your muscles, which is the most important key to boost metabolism quickly.

Anything ‘foods that boost metabolism’ that you eat can be almost useless if you get less exercise. Even eating more foods that are believed can increase your metabolism, but without exercise can lead to overload of calories /day.

And make sure all foods that you eat in moderation, in other words avoid eating too over (even for healthy foods). Making an appointment with a dietitian & a qualified trainer is so recommended if you seriously want to lose your weight quickly and safely!
