Symptoms of Bladder Cancer

The growth of unusual or abnormal cells in the body is a condition what we call as cancer. And for bladder cancer, as the name implies it is the growth of these abnormal cells that occur in the bladder. Bladder has main function to store the urine until the body is ready to let it out, and it is one of the most important parts of urinary tract. So, what are symptoms of bladder cancer? Catching as earlier as possible the existing of bladder cancer is so important for the successful of the treatment. In many cases, it can be treated as well if it is found & treated early. And fortunately, it is usually found early.

Who is more likely to have bladder cancer?

There are some conditions and factors that can put you at higher risk of bladder cancer, which may include:
  1. The risk factor may be influenced by what we eat. Some experts believe that people who often eat fried meats & fats may have higher risk of this cancer.
  2. People who are over 40 years of old.
  3. People who are more often exposed to chemical substances that can cause cancer -- like people who work in the textile, rubber, or wood industries.
  4. Smoker. We all agree that smoking is one of the worst habits that can put you at higher risk of many types of cancer.
Additionally, there is also believed a kind of parasite that can lead to schistosomiasis, which then can higher your risk of this cancer.

Symptoms of bladder cancer

Before continuing to read, if you have or experience one or some of these symptoms, don’t directly get & jump to the conclusion. Talk with your doctor immediately for more detailed information, more advices, and for clearly diagnosis.

Moreover, there are also other bladder conditions that have similar symptoms to the symptoms of bladder cancer. So once again, don’t jump directly to the conclusion!

There are some symptoms or signs of bladder cancer, and some of them that are most common are:
  1. Blood clots or blood that you find in the urine and usually not too painful. This symptom is also familiar known as hematuria, which can occur about 8-9 individuals of 10 individuals who have bladder cancer. In other words, this sign may be the most common symptom of bladder cancer.
  2. You may become to urinate frequently (usually in small amounts).
  3. You feel pain when you pee.
  4. And frequent UTIs (urinary tract infections). Urinary tract infection is a kind of infection of tubes or organs that have function to process & carry urine out of your body.
Furthermore, there are also some advanced symptoms of bladder cancer, which may include: pelvic mass, a problem in the lower legs (like swelling), and flank pain (or pain in around kidneys (in the lower back)).

And there are also other symptoms or signs that may also develop when this cancer has spread. These symptoms may include; anemia, weight loss problem, and pain in the pelvic, anal, or rectal area!
