Diet for Ulcers (Do and Don’t)!

Some patients with ulcer disease are still allowed to eat and drink (without having problem) whatever they want. But for many of them, they should do what we call as ‘diet for ulcers’! They should eat and avoid certain foods in order to heal their ulcer symptoms.

There are some certain foods that should be avoided, otherwise can lead to excessive acid production, irritation, and heartburn. Therefore, it is so important for many people with ulcer disease to clearly understand what foods that safe to eat and what foods that must be avoided.

In essence, diet for ulcers is aimed to avoid any foods that can make difficult for your body to heal ulcer disease or can make your symptoms worse.

  1. Manage your stress. Don’t let your stress control you! Many experts believe that stress can make the problem worse.
  2. Avoid smoking, because it can increase the level of stomach acid, and this is not good for your treatment.
  3. Can you drink alcohol? Many doctors believe that alcohol can erode and irritate the mucous lining in the intestines and stomach, which eventually can lead to bleeding and inflammation. Therefore, it is much better to avoid alcohol!
