What are Causes of Heart Disease

A constant blood supply to the heart is so important to keep well the performance of your heart. And the coronary arteries and veins are so vital to provide a constant blood supply. One of the most frequently asked questions is "What are causes of heart disease?"

Well, there are a lot of possible causes! But in many cases, doctors believe that ‘bad lifestyle factors’ and ‘genetic’ are two big issues which can lead to a blocked coronary artery and finally can cause e a serious problem for the constant supply blood to the heart.

Artery and veins

Like mentioned before, artery and veins have very important function to keep well the blood supply to the heart. The veins usually have thin layer of elastic fibres and muscle. The walls of veins are also relatively thinner than the walls of arteries.

Arteries have function to pump the blood from the heart to spread throughout the body. And veins have function to return blood to the heart. Therefore, the blood is usually under low pressure in the veins. And on the other hand, the blood in the arteries is usually under high pressure!

What causes heart disease?

Heart is one of the most vital organs of the body. It is a muscular organ. Generally, it can keep beating at around 70 times for each 60 seconds. It has very important function to regulate blood flow in the body. Therefore, heart disease can lead to serious health problems and even death.

Like mentioned before, a constant blood supply is so related to the mechanism of the heart to work. Without it, the heart cannot work properly. The constant supply blood has important function to supply nutrients and O2 for the muscles cells in your heart!

In order to keep well the constant blood supply, the coronary arteries or also familiar known as blood vessels must keep work well. If the coronary arteries become blocked, this condition can lead to a serious health problem that we usually call as ‘a heart attack’.

A heart attack can occur because; builds up of fatty deposits in the coronary arteries --> a fatty deposit can cause a blood clot --> if there is a blocked coronary artery then some muscle cells in the heart cannot get adequate supply of O2 & nutrients (if this condition keep continuing then can make these cells begin to die)!

Furthermore, some experts have opinion that micro-organisms can cause heart disease, but this is not a single factor. As mentioned before, heart disease also can be caused by bad lifestyle factors (particularly such as lack of exercise, bad diet, higher alcohol intake, uncontrolled stress, and smoking) and genetic (people with family history of heart disease have higher likelihood of developing this disease).

In addition, don’t forget to avoid risk factors for heart disease if you seriously want to lower your risk of this disease! Talk and discuss with your doctor to get more detailed information about causes of heart disease!
