Type-2 Diabetes Symptoms in Men, and Complications

Looking for type 2 diabetes symptoms in men? Well…in fact there are approximately more than 90 percent of men with diabetes are type 2 diabetes! But this doesn’t mean it only attack men, because anyone can have and get it, including for women (read also healthy tips for pregnant women with diabetes).

And this disease is more likely to occur in people  who have metabolic syndrome (complication problems include high blood pressure, high triglycerides, high cholesterol (especially for LDL ‘bad cholesterol’)). Individual who has family members with diabetes, women with gestational diabetes, and even being overweight also increase the risk of having diabetes!

Moreover, for older people, their body is also more likely less tolerant of sugars -- therefore their risk of developing this disease is also high. That's why age is also one of major risk factors of diabetes. 

So, what are type 2 diabetes symptoms in men?

One thing you should clearly understand,  the symptoms vary from one individual to another. There are some common symptoms, and below are some of them:
  1. Urinary tract, or frequent infection on your skin.
  2. Blurred vision (eyes-problems).
  3. Problems with urination (like frequent urination).
  4. Something wrong with your mouth (like dry mouth).
  5. The escalation to get thirst.
  6. Tingling or numbness of the feet or hands.
  7. Easy to get tired feeling or fatigue.
  8. Sometimes you get problems with vomiting or nausea.
  9. Or even the escalation to get hunger also can be one of type 2 diabetes common signs.
These symptoms are just common signs and therefore don’t jump directly to the conclusion. Consult more with a doctor to get more advance and clearly diagnosis.

In addition, some people with type diabetes may also experience 'diabetic coma' which can be a worst case scenario. But fortunately it usually occurs in rare case, however you should keep aware of any situations that can increase the risk of coma.

How about with the complications?

There are some serious complications that can be caused by type 2 diabetes. And below are some of these complications;
  1. Nerve damage & bad performance of blood circulation. The poor blood circulation and decreased sensation can be caused by the nerve damage. This situation may also affect to digestive problems, including diarrhea, nausea & vomiting.
  2. The risk of kidney damage! The longer you get and have diabetes then your risk of kidney damage will also increase over time. Kidney disease is a serious complication that can cause serious illness, like heart disease & kidney failure.
  3. Problem with the performance of the eyes, but fortunately it is not significant in most! The abnormalities in the eyes may increase for people with type 2 diabetes. They may not have eye problems initially, but over time they may have some form of eye-problems. Therefore in order to eliminate the progression of eye disease, patients are also so recommended to control the cholesterol and blood pressure level.
