Do you love to consume frozen meals? If the answer is –yes then you should read some helpful tips below on how to find the healthy frozen foods! This is not only important to promote good health for your body but also helpful enough to optimize the healthiness of your diet program.

Back to the topic, the following are a few pointers on finding and choosing the foods on ice (healthy frozen foods).
- First consider any signs that indicate the frozen foods are still in good condition or not! The signs can be the preservatives, flavors, or colors!
- If you seriously care to the health of your body, consider the composition of the total energy content! Prioritize to buy products that take possession of 7 % (or less much better) saturated fat and 30 % (or less much better) total fat – compared from the total energy content.
- Much better to check and make sure the complete packet that you want to choose is just one serving. You should know that without adequate information, you can choose the wrong food packaging, because it can be so misleading! In several cases, you may find food packaging with the nutrition checklists per serving, while the small print informs there are 2 or 3 or more servings /pack.
- After considering the composition of fat from the frozen foods, don’t also miss to consider the nutrient composition! If you want to buy meals, make sure you choose the ones that contain adequate protein! The protein composition can be 20 % of the total energy or higher is much better.
- What else you should know? There are some manufactures that skimp on more expensive ingredients (like fish, meat, etc) in order to save more money. In other words, we usually find a significant difference between the more expensive brands and the cheaper home-style ones!
In addition -- ideally, men should shoot 31-gram of protein /serving and for women is around 25 gram of protein /serving, but unfortunately these ideal compositions are not easy to meet in the frozen meals. Ask to a dietitian for more detailed information!
