How to prevent and reverse heart disease? There are a lot of articles on internet that discuss these issues, and you can find them easily by using some credible search engine like Google or Bing. However, changes in lifestyles (if you seriously want to prevent heart disease) and tight control of your medications (if you have been diagnosed with certain heart disease) are the most often common answers.
How to prevent heart disease?
As mentioned before, healthy lifestyles are one of the key answers to lower your risk of acquiring this disease. Therefore, if you have some bad lifestyles that can worse your risk of heart disease, you have to make ‘positive changes’ in your lifestyles.
What are ‘bad lifestyles or bad habits that you have to avoid’ to prevent heart disease?
- Avoid smoking!
- Limit the intake of alcohol (‘drink it in moderation’) or avoid it if you can for better result!
- Avoid stress or manage it as well!
- Avoid eating unhealthy foods!
- Avoid being overweight! Being overweight can higher your likelihood of diabetes --> and one of the common complications of diabetes is heart disease!
And ‘what you should do’ to prevent heart disease?
- Get adequate exercise! Exercise is important for the health of your body. Moreover, with regular exercise, you can control your weight easier.
- Keep your ideal weight!
- Control your blood pressure level (check it regularly)! Keep it lower as close as possible at normal range!
- Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, or other healthy foods!
- If you have diabetes, in order to minimize the progress of heart disease complication from your diabetes --> manage your blood sugar level, your blood pressure level and your cholesterol level as close as possible at normal range!
Can heart disease be reversed?
The next familiar question is; can you actually reverse your heart disease? Unfortunately there is still no clearly answer, which is still much controversial for the answer till these days.
In other words, there are some doctors who believe “Yes you can” that heart disease can be reversed with significantly lifestyle changes (the most healthful lifestyles). Moderate changes may be helpful to manage a heart disease (helpful to slow the progression), but will not be enough to reverse the disease!
Other doctors also say “Maybe but?”, --> because in fact there is still unclearly answer to reverse heart disease! Moreover, you may be able to make significantly lifestyle changes at the healthiest level, but it is so difficult to make you stay consistent on your new healthiest lifestyles (very strict lifestyles).
