How to Protect Your Heart at 20-30 Year Old?

Heart disease risk is now not only greater for older people but also can attack productive age (20-30 year old). Yet in fact the disease can be prevented.

Here are pieces of helpful information that you can do to maintain heart health.

At 30 year old

Keep your weight

At the age of 30 years usually we start a well-established economic level. Make sure you do not forget to keep and maintain the ideal weight of your body! Do exercise regularly and keep your calorie intake.

Manage stress


Do activities that you like at least 15-20 minutes every day. For examples; meditation, reading books, or playing with your pets! Activities that can make you more relaxed strongly advised to relieve stress.

Health Tests

Check the blood of your body regularly to determine whether the levels of cholesterol and your blood sugar are normal or not! Furthermore, check also the blood pressure and weight of your body regularly. Consult to your doctor about the next steps that must be considered if the result of the test is not normal!


At 20 years of age

Reduce calories

Change your habits to consume a high sugar yield like soft drinks, juice or sports drinks with water. Research shows people who obtained calorie intake of added sugars typically consume less fiber, calcium, iron, and vitamins from their food. Food and drinks that contain too much sugar will cause greater risk of obesity that eventually can lead to high blood pressure and diabetes.

Stop smoking

Quitting smoking is a major step to protect the heart. In the teen period, smoking is considered a cool thing, but at the age of 20, many people who smoke to relieve stress. According to Malissa Wood, of the American Heart Association to stop smoking at the age of 20 years is much easier in the appeal at the next age.

Learn about the family history

If based on your family history, your father suffered a heart attack before 55 year-old or your mother before 65 year-old, or any family member who died young due to heart attack, your risk will be high.
