Types of pillow filling

There are several choices when it comes to pillow filling, but which one you should choose?
  1. Down/feather! This is one of the most recommended options to promote a good night’s rest. Down pillow is soft. Furthermore, we can get the most support from the down pillow for the head when we sleep because we can move the stuffing around. The combination between down and feather is great choice. But in several cases, people with asthma or certain allergies are not recommended to use down/feather pillow.
  2. Latex! If you are looking for the firmest pillow then one that has latex filling is your choice. It can resist dust mites and mold. Furthermore, it can provide adequate support for neck, therefore also often recommended for people with neck and back alignment.
  3. Cotton/wool. It is another pillow filling that also can resist dust mites & mold. If you are looking for a squishy pillow, this type is not recommended because cotton/wool is more likely to be quite firm.
  4. Memory foam! Unfortunately, some studies found that sometimes foam material can emit unfriendly chemical odor and more heat (sleepers are more likely to feel hot during sleep). But foam can reduce pressure points by continuously adjusting the position of pressure as your body moves during sleep.
  5. Foam! It is the less breakdown choice due to higher in density. That’s why it can provide more support.
